Putao is one of the top trainers at Sasiprapa, and this is the first time I get to do pad work with him. I run early so I can have the gym to myself, and get some extra shadow boxing in. On this morning it was just me in the gym (and Sean Wright in the background, wrapping his hands) and Putao called me over to get started. I was pretty excited to work with him; his pad technique is really cool.. + Informações

Putao puts emphasis on footwork, which Master K would really appreciate. (Every time I call him he's telling me to do more footwork and I can see that it's a matter of relaxing.) They hold pads for the knee strike in a different way here and I couldn't figure it out until this session with Putao. Check.. + Informações

I'm definitely improving, but I've got to focus a lot on my kicks. Master K's been teaching me how to kick for 2 years now and it's just really something different to see Thais do it. There is a "Thai kick" and I aim to get it.. + Informações

Putao told me to "free style" in this round and he'd just catch whatever I threw at him. I did this once or twice at Lanna and didn't feel comfortable at all; but with that experience under my belt and another fight, I was pretty happy doing this drill. Putao was very positive about the combinations I threw at him, even though I'm still a little wonky with it. We did one more round after this, with him calling out most of the strikes and me throwing in a few knees and teeps "free style.". + Informações
