Priscilla Mitchell started as a rock singer but gained fame in the mid '60s as the duet partner of Country crooner Roy Drusky. Together, they recorded two albums and had a Number One record in 1965 called "Yes Mr. Peters". Married to the multi-talented superstar Jerry Reed she never achieved solo stardom and left the music business in the late '60s to be a full time wife and mom. However, her last single record, 1968's "Natch-illy Ain't No Good", was a super record, with a great performance by Priscilla, that never found an audience in the watered down"Nashville Sound" of the era. Written and Arranged by Jerry Reed, whose unique trademark finger-pickin' guitar licks can be heard throughout the song, this tune truly deserves another listen as I feel it is a lost treasure of the era. I started Jimsradiomusic in order to give great, but overlooked or forgotten records like this one a chance to be heard again. Roy Drusky (June 22, 1930 ~ September 23, 2004). Singer/songwriter Roy Drusky enjoyed success throughout the 1960s and 1070s as a performer who adapted the Nashville sound. Roy's mother encouraged her son to take up music but he was interested in baseball. It wasn't until Roy enlisted in the US Navy in the late 1940s that he shifted his focus to music. In 1951, he put together a country band, the Southern Ranch Boys and played in the Decatur, GA area. Roy also worked as a disc jockey. He continued to perform in local clubs after his band broke up and on the strength of a 1953 Starday single, "Such a Fool," he signed with the upscale Columbia Records (1955). In 1960, Roy moved to Nashville and struck it big when he signed with Decca Records. At Decca, where he worked with producer Owen Bradley, he released a single called "Another" (No. 2, 1960), which he co-wrote. He also joined the Grand Ole Opry that year. In 1961, Drusky released the double-sided hit "I'd Rather Loan You Out" (#No. 10, 1961) and Three Hearts in a Tangle (No. 2, 1961)" The next year, he reached the Top 10 again with "Second Hand Rose" (No. 3, 1962), and after a 1963 switch to Mercury records, he charted with "Peel Me A Nanner" (No. 8, 1963). Drusky continued to chart records, finally achieving that elusive #1 in 1965 with the "Yes, Mr. Peters," a duet with Priscilla Mitchell (aka Mrs. Jerry Reed).
