Pama Intl are proud to announce the launch of their next release...The Highrise Campaign, an anti-knife & gun album, featuring versions of Pama Intl's anti-knife/gun anthem 'Highrise' by; Studio One legend Dennis Alcapone, Billy Bragg, Michie One, Wrongtom (best known for his work with Hard Fi and recent Roots Manuva album), G.Corp, Mungos Hi Fi, Lynval Golding (The Specials) and Banana Clan protege Jimmy Screech. The album will be in all good record shops on 2nd February'09 on Pama Intl's own Rockers Revolt label, with proceeds going to a number of UK children's charities including; Kids Company, London, Southmede Centre, Bristol and Basement Studios, Bristol. It is very plain for everyone to see that knife and gun crime is out of control in the UK. Everyone involved with the making of Highrise, is truly passionate about spreading a positive message, as well as providing funding, mentoring and opportunities to the younger generations. Members have been directly affected by knife and gun crime; Dennis Alcapone's stepson was shot dead in Limehouse, London this summer and Lynval Golding (The Specials/Pama Intl) almost lost his life in a very well documented knife attack. In this video you'll see a Huawei U8800 (possibly also known as Ideos X5). This Chinese made Android phone has massive potential for its price (around 280? in Finland, SIM free and no contract), but fails to deliver in certain areas. One of these problematic areas is the Wi-Fi, which certainly has issues as shown in this video. Sometimes the Wi-Fi won't even turn on, as can be seen from the unboxing video available also in YouTube. In this test the Wi-Fi turns on properly, seems to obtain an IP address, and perhaps even manages to load some data from the site (I have no idea how Android's browser uses cache). Ultimately it fails loading the site, and also note how the YouTube application doesn't work. The wireless router was in the same room, and this can be reproduced virtually all the time. Other users have reported similar issues, so this is not specific to this unit. Some people have mentioned that a connection to an unsecured network works fine, and I too have observed this. In the test setup, the network was "secured" by WEP. The phone also has Android 2.2's built-in wireless tethering disabled, while Huawei claims otherwise, see section U8800 at www.huawei.com Update 17-Feb-2011: The phone has received an OTA update a few days ago. While the market now works, the WLAN does not. All I get with my own WPA secured router is a loop of connecting-authenticating-obtaining IP-connecting-.. until Android blacklists the network and gives up. Transition du son par laser : On a énormément perfectionné notre transmission du son par laser, ce qui vaut largement une nouvelle vidéo ! cette fois ci on utilise notre chaine hi-fi comme super amplificateur et on utilise une tore de ferrite enroulée comme transformateur. Le son sort très fort ce qui est très impressionnant surtout en vrai ! c'est bien les infimes variation d'éclat du laser à 5 mètres de distance qui produisent ces deux fois 80 watts de son ! Le pire c'est que le fonctionnement est très simple, vous pouvez le refaire facilement. Cette expériences ne nous a comme souvent rien couté ! 100% récup. Comment ça marche ? en fait ce n'est pas compliqué : le laser s'allume tout le temps, il est alimenté par une batterie de 3 éléments rechargeable donc 3.6 volts. On rajoute juste un interrupteur au circuit pour pouvoir l'éteindre et une résistance de 47 ohms (un résistor) pour ne pas que le laser grille. (Les lasers sont hyper sensibles, bien plus que les leds classiques ! ne jamais leur donner de surtension ou de surintensité, de jamais court-circuiter le fils du laser quand est allumé !! et toujours mette une résistance de façon à limiter l'intensité à 20ma (de la vous pouvez faire le calcul)) Donc le laser s'allume presque à son maximum. En série sur le circuit du laser on trouve aussi une tore de ferrite enroulée de quelques tours c'est elle qui assurera la liaison entre le mp4 et le circuit du laser.
