Polo Hofer is a very popular Swiss musician from Bern. He is also a quite wise man, his thoughts are known as "Polo-sophy". In Switzerland he did (during the past years) also a "theme time hour" radioshow like the famous Mr. Dylan in the US - and he pushed the level of boring stupid radio air playing up a little bit with his open attitude, his humor and profound knowledge about music and lyrics. He was pionieer of Swiss rock music with lyrics in Swiss dialect. Once he sang the blues like stoned Bobby Dylan from 1966 - when tired of buying things in shops ("warehouse blues", Warehuus-Blues") another time he felt not so good when being asked for money by other people, he then began to swear like a pig and wrote "Kiosk". But normally he is more of a peaceful man, singing about flowers and teddybears which he likes very much (as subject of songs). He also did bring out a 2-CD-set of Swiss dialect versions of Bob Dylan songs very recently. - We do not know if he would be interested in doing translations and putting music to the songs from the Woody Guthrie archive, this would be a good thing, since 2 300 of Guthries songs are yet still unsung and unrecorded. - We need capable artists (like Mr. Hofer) to bring this music to life and play it live! In 2012 a musical in the capital of Switzerland was launched with his biggest hit songs, the most known of course is the one about Swiss mountain flowers. www.alperose-musical.ch. + Informações
