Today, we demonstrate making plasma bits by energizing burning wine corks in a microwave. The plasma shows up as bright sparkles that disappear when the oven door is opened. The burning wine corks smell wonderful. Don't try this at home. We didn't. We did this outside and it destroyed the microwave. That didn't smell as good. Oops! Next time we will use glass to encapsulate the plasma for a brighter light when someone donates another microwave.
