Mia Mäkilä aka Mia Makila (b. March 21, 1979 in Norrköping, Sweden) is a swedish artist known for her lowbrow and horror art. She currently lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. "I guess everyone's calling me a "horror artist" because I deal with difficult emotions and themes such as fear, angst, madness, rage and sorrow in my art. But I also use a lot of humour. Making my demons having fun on the canvas. You could describe my art as horror pop surrealism or dark lowbrow. My work includes mixed media, paintings and digital collages. I'm self taught, using my own techniques and constantly learning new stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sucks, but that's all part of my self education. The fact that I'm also an art historian has definitely had a great impact on my art. But I'm mostly inspired by movies and film directors such as David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, Roy Andersson, Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton and artists like Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Bruegel, Francisco Goya, Jean-Michel Basquiat and the masters of Disney Studio's in the 1930's-40's. While not the best quality video it is still good enough to enjoy and is also a 30 year old memory that we are lucky to still have around. Pink Floyd's live rendition of "The Wall" performed throughout 1980 and 1981 ranks as some of the most spectacular shows ever to be performed in front of an audience. The initial intent of director Alan Parker and Pink Floyd along with Illustrator Gerald Scarfe was to include live footage of "The Wall" shows into the movie version of "The Wall" and some shows were filmed for that specific purpose. But after several screen tests, Roger Waters was removed from the starring role and was replaced with the punk musician Bob Geldof. Since Waters was no longer in the starring role, it no longer made sense for the feature to include Pink Floyd footage, so the live film aspect was dropped. The footage culled from the five Wall concerts at Earl's Court from 13-17 June 1981 that were held specifically for filming was deemed unusable also for technical reasons as the fast Panavision lenses needed for the low light levels turned out to have insufficient resolution for the movie screen. BUT NOW WE HAVE IT HERE. And until something like this is released officially (if ever). www.myspace.com David Gilmour's 'Run Like Hell' intro is played with a delay set to dotted 8th notes. The main challenge- aside from keeping the time- is defining the delay time as dotted 8th notes. Or in other words: finding the tempo of your quarter notes when you want the delay to echo after a dotted 8th note. And that's what this tutorial is all about. Even if you can set your delay to dotted eighth notes via 'tap tempo' you need to be able to do this if you don't want to lose track of your repeats! First of all, set the repeats back to one, then dial in a medium delay time around 600-800ms for a start. You want the delayed signal to echo after a dotted eight note, which is as long as three sixteenth notes. So listen to the original and the repeated note and think of them as the first and the fourth of four 16th notes. (Or a dotted eighth note plus a 16th note). When you've found your tempo, you can start playing all the down beats (quarter notes). It helps if you play them palm muted and very short. I like it best to play downstrokes only. Then bring up the repeats again and play steady 8th or 16th notes, and there you have it!. + Informações

"Run Like Hell" Pink Floyd: The Wall Live Part Thirteen. Recorded live at Earls Court, London in 1980. The band performs their entire 1979 rock opera/concept album on stage with costumes, inflatable puppets, Gerald Scarfe's animation, and an enormous wall made of individual cardboard bricks. Unfortunately, no better quality version exists as there has never been an official release of the video. Also, some footage appears to be from another recording of the concert. Other stage and film versions of the Wall include the 1990 performance in Berlin by Roger Waters and a large group of other musical artists, as well as the 1982 movie starring Bob Geldof.
