Here is Paul Oscher, remenicing about Little Walter and play a few of his songs at Bumbershoot 2009. He first came to attention as Muddy Waters harmonica player from 1967-1972. He is now touring as a solo artist or in a trio setting. This video captures the first two songs of his "Alone with the Blues" solo show at Bumbershoot 2009 in Seattle. This was a fantastic show to see. I sat in the front row. A great opportunity for a long time Blues fan. I hadn't heard of Paul before Bumbershoot. To me, seeing great artists that you never heard of before at some of the smaller stages is what makes a festival like Bumbershoot so great.. + Informações

Oscher plays a number of instruments and was the first white musician to play in a major blues band. In his case he played harp for Muddy Waters. His guitar is an old Harmony to which he has added a seventh string for increased bass options. He's full of tales about having lived in Muddy's basement along with Otis Span and other legends. Harmonica virtuoso Paul Oscher is a veteran of the Muddy Waters Blues band, and the album is reminiscent of Water's formative Mississippi blues. Oscher cut these tracks without any overdubs or other electronic cleverness, opting instead to rely on sharp musicianship and feel. His uncomplicated approach yields a deep satisfying blues experience. Oscher takes on some classic blues tunes, including WC Handy's "St. Louis Blues,"Robert Johnson's "32-20 Blues" and Robert Lockwood Jr.'s "Take a Little Walk," He offers four originals, one of which is the top-notch slow burner "So Lonesome."
