Otis recorded this song shortly before his tragic death. Steve Cropper finished production on the song after Otis' plane went down. Released posthumously, it was Otis' biggest hit ever. As a child my Grandad would visit his own Grandfather at the very same Lake. It has been throughout his life, a spiritual home. To fully understand the significance to this film you should watch another of mine called Sandy Lake - Memories. It's a film of my visit to my Grandparents cabin and a film that explains how my Grandad was separated from my Mother ( his eldest daughter ) for 49 years.
