But the power-pop outfit promises lots of local love in the clip. "The performance parts were shot at War Haus Visual Studio in the Museum District, and the bedroom scenes were actually filmed in my apartment," says guitarist Enoma Asowata. "We shot the video back in early September and then did some more filming in late October." Guess we'll just have to wait until Saturday, when the band unveils Ghosts at the formal release party. It's a promising start to 2012, which follows a year that saw Otenki earn national attention as a finalist in the Billboard Battle of the Bands competition. The event also is a fundraiser for local schools. Otenki will raffle off an Epiphone Les Paul Junior guitar, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to various schools via donorschoose.org, which pairs needy classrooms with charitable folks. Why this song for the video treatment? Ghosts is the most accessible track from the new record, and it showcases the new direction of the band.
