My take at a great party-blues by Oscar "Buddy" Woods, one of the few bluesmen who played lap slide blues. This song must have been one of his favorites as he recorded it three times. He had a very characteristic way of playing; in most of his songs he goes up to the 8th fret in the second half of the second and third lines of the verse and this gives the song a special flavor. Listen to the Black Ace clip below, he does it too. I'm in open G (tuned up a half step). There's some great footage of Oscar's pupil, BK Turner, aka "The Black Ace" on Youtube. www.youtube.com He was rediscovered in the 60ies and recorded for the Arhoolie label.
