This new all-solid soprano ukulele from Ohana is based on a 1930's Martin Style 2. Quite a number of Ohana dealers, in both the US and Europe, already have them in stock. Please be aware that I work for Ohana Music. Having said that, I know that many people have been waiting patiently for this uke to come out. The tune I play at the begining is part of my new arrangement of a 17th Century piece called "Cherry Garden". It is actually much easier to play than it sounds and will be available in my next eBook: "12 Easy Tunes for Ukulele". I hope to complete this book in the next couple of months.. + Informações

RESULTS The string on the instrument with the tuner were the regular Aquilas. Three times as many people preferred those to the Bionylon strings. One Ohana SK-35G is strung with the standard Aquila Nylgut and the other I have re-strung with Aquila Bionylon. The Bionylon strings were developed recently and are presently being tested. Mimmo, of Aquila Corde, sent me some a while back to try out. I decided to try them on this solid wood instrument first as I had a second one for comparison. From a short distance these new strings look pretty much the same as the standard Aquilas. However, they feel quite different. The bionylon strings play in a similar way to normal nylon strings, but are more "ecofriendly". This new polyamide was developed in Italy by Mimmo and is made from 70% plant material (castor oil). So which strings do you like best? To me they sound quite different. Make any comments you like, but try to include which one of the two sets you prefer. No effects were used on the audio track of this video and the volume levels for each instrument were the same. Because the SK-35G is a loud instrument, I have increased the volume in the speaking sections. I will have the two ukes in this video at Hollesley this weekend. If you are there, you can try them side by side. I will collate the results in a week or so and give some feedback.. + Informações
