And everything went wrong prior to Lorenzo's solo piano recital with the Manila Symphony Orchestra last June 30, 2011 with Jeffrey Solares conducting. 1. The original schedule, June 25 had to be cancelled as Manila suddenly became a lake from terribly heavy rains spawned by a tropical storm. 2. June 30, the new date of the recital started as sunny and bright, but 3 hours before the concert the rains again poured like mad and everywhere there were flash floods, tying up traffic for miles. Almost 1/2 of the audience arrived late despite delaying the start of the program by 30 minutes. 3. Three practice sessions were originally scheduled with the orchestra, but because of the rains and floods during the week of the recital only one short practice of 1 1/2 hours occurred. That is why Enzo and the conductor had to "feel" each other's pulse very well during the recital lest major snafus could happen .... it was really nerve wracking!! 4. And the video-audio!! It has been almost a week of sleepless nights trying to synchronize the different sources of video and audio to no avail. There are some portions where the video seems ahead of the audio and vice-versa. I give up!! for the moment. The consolation? I think Enzo played very well and expressively. The theme of unsure destinations and no plans continues in Episode 3 of Get Elevated. The crew decides not to head back into Yosemite and instead point the caravan in the opposite direction, heading on what they believe is the right path to the next stop. After getting lost, asking the mountain folk for directions, and purchasing several coon-skin hats, the group finds what they've been looking for, a spot with special significance to the downhill skateboarding community. They come to the top of a canyon, with roads extending to the left and the right. One is the old grade, the other is the new truck bypass. The left path takes you down 2 miles of narrow and outrageously steep pavement, narrowly splitting guardrails and uphill traffic on either side. The other is a busy highway, with lots of large trucks, and 50mph chutes. The crew sleeps next to a lake, and tries their hand at fishing again, but to no avail, and end their day with more travel by making their way to James' lakeside cabin in Pinecrest.
