Raymond Edward O'Sullivan... Alone again Naturally 3.65 min. Gilbert O`Sullivan - WE WILL - Gus Dugeon Remix 4.15 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 8763 exibições This is a subtle and beautiful remix of Gilbert`s classic song from 1971. The lyrics are inspired by his childhood memories of everyday family life. Some of these images are of Waterford in Ireland where young Raymond Edward O`Sullivan was born in 1946 and spent the first eight years of his life before the family moved to Swindon in England in 1953 . The first picture is of Gilbert ` himself ` as a toddler in Ireland ! On a sad note - Gus Dugeon was a great record producer who worked extensively with Elton John and many other artists including Chris Rea and Elkie Brooks . He produced Gilbert`s 1980 album OFF CENTRE . Gus and his wife Sheila both tragically died in a motorway accident in 2002 . This one`s for you Gus - thanks for the legacy. Uncut Magazine reviewing this song in 2004 - " Eerie things happen here. Eire-born Jersey resident Gilbert created classics of lonely whimsy, of child-like innocence that's so innocent it's sinister. On the haunting and haunted epic "We Will", he outdid anything written by Dennis Potter?albeit with a lovely tune and ethereal strings. It's as sublime, frozen and freaky as, say, Big Star's "Holocaust". So he used to enjoy smiling on Top Of The Pops? Look for the clown's tears, friends, and see that his peak work is tragic, which we mean as the highest compliment. These songs will rise like a ghostly fog when 99 per cent of 20th-century pop music is burned to cinders. And for me, the breathtaking Proustian madeleines of "We Will"?"I bagsy .... + Informações |

Gilbert O'Sullivan accumulated no less than fourteen top-forty hits during the 70?s, including "Clair", "Alone Again (Naturally)", "Get Down" and "Nothing Rhymed", with number one singles on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as four top-five UK albums. The brand new record "Gilbertville" will be released early 2011. THE STORY SO FAR ..... Gilbert O'Sullivan was born Raymond Edward O'Sullivan on 1st December 1946 in Waterford in Ireland. In 1953 he moved with his family to Swindon in England. After finishing college, Gilbert moved to London in 1967 to try and further his musical career. Gilbert signed a five year publishing contract with CBS which called for one single a year, and released two singles "Disappear"/"You" in 1967 and "What Can I Do"/"You" in 1968. Gilbert came to the attention of BBC Radio 1 disc jockey, John Peel, who gave him a slot on his radio show Top Gear and O'Sullivan spent part of 1969 applying to other record labels and management companies. It was at this time that Gilbert formulated his 'Bisto Kid' image; grey flannel suit, flat cap, school boy tie, football socks and hobnail boots. Gilbert made an irresistible impression with "Nothing Rhymed", his first Top 10 hit and an introduction to his witty lyrics and original approach as a singer/songwriter. After that, just start hailing the bullets at him. I tried a second attempt using this method and finished him off more faster since he doesn't send airstrikes at you. Make sure to equip a lot of Painkillers The Dynamite Bow does a great deal of damage too, but just shoot it when he's not rolling for cover. You could also just go up and fight him hand by hand or using the jump kick, but that will take longer. If you have always admired Gilbert`s work then PLEASE by this record - the music industry NEEDS a genius like Gilbert on the scene again ! Gilbertville - review from A Music website - "Gilbertville" is the album that takes Gilbert O'Sullivan into his sixth decade of releasing music, as well as being his Hypertension debut. Whilst it's true that O'Sullivan's heyday was in 70s 80s you don't get the longevity that he's enjoyed without being really talented. There's something about cheese that can be quite compelling, but in order for that to happen it's got to be well written and arranged, songs have to be able to stand on their own and from that point of view, he's still got it. This is an album that's high on country, blues, MOR and ultimately fun.
