This allows you to frame advance, slow down or speed up, and most importantly, no desyncing of the TAS. I've made a lot of long TAS'es with this and I haven't encountered it yet. The downside, however, is that there are no rewinds. Although if there were (are there?), I wouldn't suggest using it when you are making a TAS as it might increase the chance of Mario dying somewhere in the middle of the recording. Another downside is that you can only press "x" amount of buttons when using frame advance. For example, if I press the down and right buttons and move on to the next frame, it won't register the input for some odd reason. I either have to let go of the down button or the right button. But for some odd reason, it is not the same for the up button. I hope you know what I mean. About The TAS: Overall, I was proud of this recording, except for the 4th level (water level). That just wrecked my TAS time. In the first room, I couln't beat the moving-wall thing (where I got stuck in), and at the pipe as well. In the second room, I couln't beat the clockwise and counter-clockwise boos and had to waste maybe 10 seconds on that. And in the Boo Boss Battle, I had the worst place to have eeries spawn, where I had to wait 5 seconds before I could reach one of those. Impossible Mission 2 was one of the games I spent most with on my Commodore 64, however, one of those few games I never managed to complete. I also had it on Amiga and thought it would be cool to compare these different versions. Even though Amiga is technically far superior to the C64 I think the C64 version is by far the most superior one. The Amiga gameplay plays on double speed in this video for some odd reason . Everytime you enter a screen on the Amiga version it takes 5 seconds and plays some odd sound which is very annoying in the long run and I also find the controls more responsive on the C64. Commodore 64 sound capabilities was FAR beyond any of its 8-bit counterpart computers and it is sure embarrassing to hear the Spectrum intro after the C64 version. I also prefer C64 colorful graphics over boring monochrome graphics on the Spectrum, however, the playability on the Spectrum was good.
