Neanderthal 1 - Discovery Channel 49.23 min. | 4.907591 avaliação | 100354 exibições Neanderthal - Discovery Channel This revealing two-part drama documentary combined the latest scientific research with a stunning mixture of drama and cutting edge 3D animation to reconstruct the lives of these remarkable early humans. In the second part, the advanced Cro-Magnons arrive and a new Ice Age is dawning. Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals coexisted on Earth until competition drove one of them to extinction. This program, set in the southwest of France 35000 years ago, uses re-creations of cinematic proportions to reconstruct life in the Neanderthal world at the time Cro-Magnons first entered the scene. All aspects of Neanderthal clan life are examined, including tool- and weapon-making, hunting and gathering, health and healing, childbirth, rituals, and making fire. Footage of skeletal remains and the scholarly research of eminent paleontologist Chris Stringer and Oxford University's Paul Pettitt support the documentary.. + Informações |

Neanderthal - Planet of the Apemen: Battle for Earth - BBC 56.80 min. | 4.4823527 avaliação | 46747 exibições Neanderthal - Planet of the Apemen: Battle for Earth - BBC This episode is set 35000 years ago and depicts Homo sapiens's encounter with Homo neanderthalensis. As the ice caps retreated, the Neanderthal stronghold in Europe weakened, providing a window of opportunity to which modern humans owe their existence. As almost exclusively carnivorous, both male and female Neanderthals hunted. Evidence of a huge number of injuries, like those seen in today's rodeo riders, suggest that hunting involved dangerously close contact with large prey animals.. + Informações |

Horizon: Neanderthal (BBC) 49.03 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 5483 exibições In 1848 a strange skull was discovered on the military outpost of Gibraltar. It was undoubtedly human, but also had some of the heavy features of an ape... distinct brow ridges, and a forward projecting face. Just what was this ancient creature? And when had it lived? As more remains were discovered one thing became clear, this creature had once lived right across Europe. The remains were named Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthal man) an ancient and primitive form of human. The archaeological evidence revealed that the earliest Neanderthals had lived in Europe about 200000 years ago. But then, about 30000 years ago, they disappeared... just at the time when the first modern humans appear in Europe. The story has it that our ancestors, modern humans, spread out of Africa about 100000 years ago with better brains and more sophisticated tools. As they spread into Neanderthal territory, they simply out-competed their primitive cousins. But was Neanderthal really the brutish ape-man of legend, or an effective rival to our own species? And how exactly had he been driven to extinction? What could be found out about this remarkable evolution from the bones themselves? To begin the investigation a skeleton was needed, and no complete Neanderthal had ever been found. However a reconstruction expert at The American Museum of Natural History in New York realised that it would be possible to create an entire composite skeleton from casts of partial skeletons. Gary Sawyer combined and .... + Informações |

Are we Neanderthal man? 7.28 min. | 3.6666667 avaliação | 731 exibições Are we Neanderthal or is evolution based on a deeper process? We know that people came out of Africa because they are still coming but did they replace the indigenous Neanderthals or just merged with them? Multiregional evolution explains how the diversity we see today can evolve within a region of space over a period of time. But did the space and time predate the evolutionary process forming a universal, geometrical and therefore mathematical base for the evolution of all life? Are we all part of one universal process of symmetry forming and breaking a process of continuous change that forms the flow of time and geometry of spacetime for the process of evolution to take place? Recent research has found that 1 to 4 percent of the DNA in Europeans and Asians is shared with Neanderthal DNA. This theory supports the idea of group evolution and not the individual evolutionism of the so called evolutionist Richard Dawkins.. + Informações |

Neanderthal Man 1 of 5 9.97 min. | 4.9069767 avaliação | 13300 exibições The Neanderthal is an extinct member of the Homo genus that is known from Pleistocene specimens found in Europe and parts of western and central Asia. Neanderthals are either classified as a subspecies of humans (Homo sapiens neanderthalensis) or as a separate species (Homo neanderthalensis). The first proto-Neanderthal traits appeared in Europe as early as 600000 - 350000 years ago. Neanderthal Man Playlist: www.youtube.com 1 of 5: www.youtube.com 2 of 5: www.youtube.com 3 of 5: www.youtube.com 4 of 5: www.youtube.com 5 of 5: www.youtube.com Proto-Neanderthal traits are occasionally grouped to another phenetic 'species', Homo heidelbergensis, or a migrant form, Homo rhodesiensis. By 130000 years ago, complete Neanderthal characteristics had appeared. These characteristics then disappeared in Asia by 50000 years ago and in Europe by 30000 years ago. The youngest Neanderthal finds include Hyaena Den (UK), considered older than 30000 years ago, while the Vindija (Croatia) Neanderthals have been re-dated to between 32000 and 33000 years ago. No definite specimens younger than 30000 years ago have been found; however, evidence of fire by Neanderthals at Gibraltar indicate that they may have survived there until 24000 years ago. Cro-Magnon or early modern human skeletal remains with 'Neanderthal traits' were found in Lagar Velho (Portugal), dated to 24500 years ago and controversially interpreted as indications of extensively admixed populations. I prefer to improvise and try different arrangements, the best ones make into the album :) Sorry for the poor video quality, the sun went down during the session and the GoPro Hero sucks in poor light conditions.
