Divertisement in G major composed by Napoleon Coste (1805 -1883) played by Alex Timmerman on a French period guitar made by Pierre René Lacôte in 1830. This Parisian guitarmaker is also known as René François Lacôte. To stay as close as possible to the original sound of the guitar, the instrument is strung with gut-strings manufactured in Italy by the well-known string makers of the 'AGUILA corde armoniche' company. Napoleon Coste, as a guitarist, liked the guitars made by the Parisian luthier Pierre René Lacôte and worked together with him constructing the Heptacorde, the 7-string guitar after Coste's idea. In the Method for guitar by Fernando Sor translated by Napoleon Coste, the latter mentions Lacôte in the augmented last chapter about the Heptacorde as the maker of this instrument. This fact gave me the idea to use a 1830 Lacote guitar for the Divertisement in G Major recorded in this video.. + Informações
