"Wearing The Inside Out" was released on Pink Floyd's 14th and last album, The Division Bell, in the spring of 1994. This song has always been one of my very favorite late Floyd efforts, just an extremely beautiful and haunting melody made even more special with Richard Wright's wonderful vocals (he hadn't sung lead on a Pink Floyd track since "Time" from Dark Side Of The Moon in 1973!), and David Gilmour's incredible guitar. It was also so amazingly cool to hear Dick Parry's familiar saxophone come through the speakers once again as his contributions on the instrument are so prominent on both Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here albums. All these things make "Wearing The Inside Out" a standout track. The music is written mostly by David Gilmour and Richard Wright; lyrically, the album deals mostly with themes of communication. Recording took place in a number of locations, including the band's Britannia Row Studios, and Gilmour's houseboat, Astoria. Some incredible talent was involved in the production of this record including Bob Ezrin (production), Michael Kamen (arrangements) and Chris Thomas (mixing)...all of whom's work I continue to admire. Part 46 of my playthrough of Red Dead Redemption Mission #46- The Prodigal Son Returns (To Yale) When John meets with the Professor Harold MacDougal, he finds MacDougal nervous and packing his bags for his return to Yale. MacDougal has had one too many brushes with death for his liking and decides he is not cut out to study "the savages". Their conversation is interrupted when Dutch Van Der Linde shoots out one of the windows and calls out to John. chances are you have either been affected by domestic violence directlt in some way in your life- if you havent you definitely have a friend or realtive who has understanding this complex, emotionally charged issue is not easy- the women who have been abused often feel defensive and people outside the situation are quick to judge their seemingly irrational action of going back to the abusive partner with a bit of understanding of some of the complex psychological functions that keep these dramas playing out, we can help ourselves and each other with these situations and maybe try to foster a bit of compassion for the women who are addicted to the men who abuse them I was motivated to do this blog watching Larry King ask the question many have asked " but WHY do women go back to abusive men?" on his CNN show about Rihanna being assaulted by Chris Brown... This song reminds me of my mom. she has the biggest heart of gold ever, she does so much, so many little things that has an effect on peoples lives. She doesn't ask for anything in return, she's very shy and soft-spoken so a whole lot of attention makes her nervous, it just pleases her heart to help make someone's day brighter. Thankfully, she's passed the same generousity down to me. She, is my best friend, and even though she doesn't go noticed to very many other people, and sometimes she gets discouraged because some people tend to take advantage of her kind heart, in my eyes, she will always be one of the greatest heros in the entire world and I will never forget all her generousity has taught me. The sad thing about all of it is, is that she doesn't realize how wonderful she truly is.
