Mother's Finest is a funk rock band founded in Atlanta, Georgia by Joyce Kennedy and Glenn Murdock in the early 1970s. Sie spielen Klassiker von Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, James Brown und Stevie Wonder, aber auch aktuelle Songs und Künstler wie Alicia Keys, Adele oder Joss Stone gehören zu ihrem Programm. Die Besetzung ist eine energiereiche Mischung aus erfahrenen Musikern und jungen Talenten. Die optische und akustische ?Schnittstelle" zum Publikum bilden Julia Bergen und Anni Huebner, beide faszinieren mit ihren hochkarätigen Soulstimmen und verwandeln jedes Konzert in ein musikalisches Highlight. Daneben gibt der vielseitige Gitarrist Mark Hertzer jazziges Rhythmusspiel und krachende Rock-Solis zum Besten. Durch sein Wirken in der Bigband Blechschaden (Lüneburg) und in anderen Formationen ist er in der Region bekannt, er unterrichtet an der Musikschule Lüneburg. Der Keyboarder Wolfgang Wierzyk arbeitet als Arrangeur und Musikjournalist, in der Band sorgt er für die knackigen und authentischen Arrangements und legt die harmonische Basis. Er unterrichtet an der Musikschule für Kreis und Stadt Uelzen. Am Schlagzeug sitzt Henning Thomsen, der auch in verschiedenen Bands wie zB Mama Boom (Hamburg) aktiv ist. Er gilt weit über Lüneburg hinaus als der ?amtlich" anerkannte Groove-Spezialist. Wolfgang Sperzel ist im richtigen Leben als Cartoonist und Comiczeichner bekannt -- seine heimliche Liebe gilt jedoch dem Bass und er versteht es wie .... + Informações
