For my project I found the perfect opportunity to record the Agape Clubs Concert on March 30, 2012. The concert was held in the classroom of 1001 in Wiekamp Hall at 6pm. The concert consisted of two groups singing gospel songs and a short sermon followed by a prayer. After the event everyone gathered at the back of the classroom for light refreshments. I wanted to capture the togetherness that the program tried to instill in the people that attended, after a few songs people started swaying in their seats and even joining in song with the people on stage. The word Agape translated to English from Greek means love, and through the songs and prayer and sermon they showed their love for God. My reason for recording this was not to preach about God, but to catch people's reactions about something that may seem foreign to them. A person who I was with who did not want to be recorded stated that the music did not really sound like gospel, that it sounded like regular music, and wondered what is gospel music any ways. I tried to explain to her saying that gospel music is a way that people use to praise God, and I began pointing out words to her during some of the songs like 'he is worthy to be praised'. Overall she did not really like the concert, not because of what was being said, but because of how it was said. She thought the musicians could use voice coaches, and I believe you can hear her commentary throughout my recording. My other friend who was recorded did like the .... + Informações
