Tempest Milky Way 3.67 min. | 4.963452 avaliação | 98392 exibições Watch in HD - More info, still photos and Download the extended cut, with exclusive footage, here dakotalapse.com Won best overall and audience choice at 2011 Chronos Film Festival. One of the challenges in making this video, was trying to get good storm and star shots. The opportunity doesn't come along very often, the storm has to be moving the right speed and the lightning can overexpose the long exposures. I had several opportunities this summer to get storm and star shots. In one instance, within a minute of picking up the camera and dolly, 70mph winds hit. One storm was perfect, it came straight towards the setup, then died right before it reached it. At the 1:57 mark a Whitetail buck came in to check out the setup. It was caught on 20 frames, and was there for about 10 minutes. It was only 50 yards from the camera, dolly and light. At the 3:24 mark, a meteor reflects on the water of the small lake, see still below in Photos. There are also quite a few other meteors in the timelapse. This was all shot in central South Dakota from June-August. Canon 5D Mark II for a few shots, Canon 60D and T2i Canon 16-35, Tokina 11-16 Exposure on most shots was 20-30 seconds, ISO 1600 or 3200 F2.8. Simon Wilkinson at the www.bluemask.com created the music "Tempest" and sound for it. I used the Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly on most of the shots as well, it is awesome. http Contact for licensing or anything else Randy Halverson www.dakotalapse.com Follow Google + www.plus .... + Informações |

Plains Milky Way 3.28 min. | 4.980709 avaliação | 325706 exibições Most questions about this, are answered in the description below. Download this in full HD here - for home use only dakotalapse.com Windows Media Quicktime During the month of May, I shot Milky Way timelapse in central South Dakota, when I had the time, and the weather cooperated. The biggest challenge was cloudy nights and the wind. There were very few nights, when I could shoot, that were perfectly clear, and often the wind was blowing 25mph +. That made it hard to get the shots I wanted. I kept most of the shots low to the ground, so the wind wouldn't catch the setup and cause camera shake, or blow it over. I used a Stage Zero Dolly on the dolly shots and a "Milapse" mount on the panning ones. Canon 60D and T2i Tokina 11-16 Sigma 20mm F1.8 Tamron 17-50 Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly www.dynamicperception.com Shot in RAW format, the Milky Way shots were 30 seconds exposure F2.8 or F1.8 with 3 second interval between shots, for 3-4 hours run time. ISO 1600 Ten seconds of the video is about 2 hours 20 minutes in real time. Supermassive Black Hole in the Milky Way Galaxy 20.15 min. | 4.921395 avaliação | 722382 exibições Watch this and other space videos at SpaceRip.com From a distance, our galaxy would look like a flat spiral, some 100000 light years across, with pockets of gas, clouds of dust, and about 400 billion stars rotating around the galaxys center. Thick dust and blinding starlight have long obscured our vision into the mysterious inner regions of the galactic center. And yet, the clues have been piling up, that something important, something strange is going on in there. Astronomers tracking stars in the center of the galaxy have found the best proof to date that black holes exist. Now, they are shooting for the first direct image of a black hole. From a distance, our galaxy would look something like this. A flat spiral, some 100000 light years across, with pockets of gas, clouds of dust, and about 400 billion stars rotating around the galaxy's center. That center -- bulging up and out of the galactic disk -- is tightly packed with stars. Thick dust and blinding starlight have long obscured our vision into the mysterious inner regions of this so-called "bulge." And yet, the clues have been piling up, that something important...something strange... is going on in there. The first to take notice was the physicist Karl Jansky back in the 1930s. He was asked by his employer, Bell Telephone Labs, to investigate sources of static that might interfere with what it saw as the killer app of its time... radio voice transmissions. Using this ungainly radio receiver... Jansky methodically .... + Informações |

Punt and Dennis - Mr. Strange - Milky Milky! 1.42 min. | 4.814433 avaliação | 105325 exibições A classic clip from the "Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis Show" from 1994, starring Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis. This clip features the infamous character Mr. Strange that Punt and Dennis first used in Series 2 of The Mary Whitehouse Experience. Mr. Strange was the man your mum warned you about, who would sniff and weigh milk at the milk counter. His catch phrase "Milky Milky" would usually be said after he would smell milk that had gone off - "Lovely, it's nature's way!" or if he poured out milk that had gone off. In this clip Mr. Strange takes a dislike to Louis Pasteur. Milky Milky!. + Informações |

Under the Milky Way 4.98 min. | 4.973856 avaliação | 72407 exibições The Church - Under the Milky Way Tonight. SME removed the original song but youtube allowed me to swap it with this version. Milky Way Time Lapse Video 1.03 min. | 4.979 avaliação | 201000 exibições This is a time lapse video of the Milky Way rising in the south east sky, viewed from Death Valley. The Milky Way is our own galaxy, a thick spinning disc of stars with arms that thin as they spiral outward. Our Sun is located in one of the arms. When viewed from our Suns location, the Milky Way appears as a broad band across the sky. The Milky Way is not aligned with the plane of the ecliptic, so it is not parallel with the paths that the moon and Sun follow across our sky. The central core of the Milky Way, which is the thick disc-like center of the galaxy, lies on the right side of this video. Some satellites and planes can be seen briefly in the video, along with a few shooting stars (meteors) near the bottom of the frame just before dawn. This was shot with a Canon 1Ds Mark III digital SLR camera over a period of about six hours, and is composed of about 500 photographs.. + Informações |

The Church - Under The Milky Way 4.95 min. | 4.9758453 avaliação | 39310 exibições "Under the Milky Way" is a 1988 song by Australian alternative rock band The Church. Written by the band's vocalist and bassist, Steve Kilbey, and his then-girlfriend Karin Jansson, the song was originally released on The Church's Starfish album and won the Australian ARIA award for best song in 1989. The song was the band's only international hit, staying in the US top 40 for several weeks, and charting in Canada (#69) and the UK (#90). In their native Australia, "Under The Milky Way" was also a hit, peaking at #22. However, it was not their biggest homeland hit: The Church placed two singles slightly higher in the Australian charts in their career ("Almost With You" at #21, and "Metropolis" at #19). Unlike most of the band's songs, "Under the Milky Way" featured a 12-string acoustic guitar melody along with a solo that, although sounding like a bagpipe, was actually an EBow on a Fender Jazzmaster. According to a press release issued with Starfish, the song was written about an Amsterdam music and cultural venue called Melkweg (Dutch for "Milky Way"), which Kilbey used to frequent. The single was released in several configurations (7", double 7", 12", CD single), in many countries, with at least five different cover art designs. The main b-sides were "Musk" and "Warm Spell." Spanish versions added "Anna Miranda" and "Perfect Child." Sheet music for "Under The Milky Way" was published by Hal Leonard. A colorfully cinematic music video was filmed for the song; it is .... + Informações |
