Toy's version of the 1946 Johnnie Lee Wills hit (penned by Kokomo Arnold) gets a slower, southern blues treatment than some of the other versions by the likes of George Strait and Merle Haggard. The tune is best known as a popular Western swing number and Toy was influenced by that music when his father was teaching him guitar. This clip highlights the blues side of Toy, his phrasing, tone and dynamics are on full display here and the way he mixes chicago blues licks with his trademark chicken pickin is masterful.
