As a professional opera singer, Michael Ballam's work has spanned nearly three decades and four continents. He has 70 leading roles and contributed to 600 performances. At age 2, Ballam knew he wanted to be a singer, and he has since performed in the most distinguished concert halls throughout the world, including the White House. By 24, he was the youngest recipient of a doctorate of music with distinction in history. In 1998, Dr. Randle helped found the Healing Hands for Haiti International Foundation (HHHI), established to support rehabilitation of Haiti's disabled adults and children. Along with the help of volunteer teams across the US and Canada, the Foundation has supported the treatment of over 25000 patients, provided more than 1000 prosthetic limbs, supported 45 orphanages with disabled children and trained over 100 clinicians in rehabilitation medicine. The January earthquake in Haiti destroyed all but one of the HHHI clinic buildings. Dr. Randle and his teams worked tirelessly to re-open the remaining clinic and have provided emergency and rehabilitative care to hundreds of earthquake victims.
