Sorry for the poor video quality - this video predates the broadband era so it inherently looks like garbage. Of course, I encoded the audio at 160kbps and used the AVC codec, so the file conversion is as good as it gets. If anybody has an upgrade, I'll encode it. This concert also includes filmed performances of Safe European Home, London Calling, White Man in Hammersmith Palais, Tommy Gun, and White Riot. Live At The Bridgewater Palace Theatre, November 17th, 2002. The band would go on to play four more shows before Strummer's death a month later. This concert is notable for the airing of several infrequently played songs: Coma Girl, Get Down Moses, 1969 (an Iggy & The Stooges cover), and a somewhat retooled Police & Thieves. Also, there's nothing I can do about the compression problems with the video. Compression artifacts are inherent to the source, as is the mild high-end audio distortion. Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros -- Live At The Brixton Academy, 2001. One of the most polished shows the second (and best) Mescaleros lineup would give. Everybody has the Global A Go-Go material down pat and it shows: Tymon Dogg ravages his fiddle on Bummed Out City, Joe is all over the stage during Global A Go-Go, and the entire band is energetic all night. Highlights include Minstrel Boy, Mondo Bongo and Blitzkrieg Bop, largely because I don't think I've ever seen those performed on video prior to this recording, but the whole show is pretty terrific.
