The short stories their efforts contained were variable in quality and the linking stories mostly lame. However in '67, they managed to secure the services of the great Burgess Meredith, who CHEWED on the Robert Bloch script! In fact the LINKS in Torture Garden are the BEST bits, so this piece consists of ALL Mr Meredith's links stitched together - and includes the end of the best story (in part two). Also here, is the pop-eyed Michael Ripper - Hammer's lucky charm (maybe they just liked his name!) Hammer never contracted actors, thus Amicus would often use them. But it's Burgess' show. Meredith Vieira vs. Martha Stewart Apple Pie Bake-Off 091118 Meredith's Apple Pie INGREDIENTS Apples - any combination, but Granny Smith and Macs are preferred Egg whites 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. apple pie spice (or allspice, cinnamon, mace) Butter Egg yolks Prepared pie crust DIRECTIONS Prepare pie crust, put in pie plate. Brush crust with beaten egg white and set aside. Peel and cut up apples in chunks and fill up crust. Put sugar and apple pie spice on top of apples. Put one pat of butter, cut into 4 pieces, on top of apples. Put crust on top. Mix egg yolks with a little bit of milk and brush on top. Cut slits in crust. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees and 30 minutes at 350. Serve. Meredith Jenkins' priority is to see the student athletes at Auburn University succeed. She has made a tremendous impact on the lives of these young people, helping them become successful on and off the field. Meredith began her career in intercollegiate athletics in 1992 as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Department at Florida State University. In 1994, Meredith accepted a position at Auburn University as the Assistant Athletics Director of Media Relations. She also served as the Associate Athletics Director of Media Relations at Auburn before moving into her current role as a Senior Associate Athletics Director and the Senior Woman Administrator in 2006.
