In the UK it is certified 10 x Platinum for more than 3 million sales. This concert from the Stadthalle Offenbach in Germany was filmed in June 1978 for the German Rockpalast TV series and perfectly captures the raw excitement of the original Bat Out Of Hell tour with Meat Loaf dominating the stage and the albums songwriter Jim Steinman contributing heavily. Most of the tracks from the album are featured alongside covers of Johnny B Goode and River Deep, Mountain High. This is a superb film of the original Bat Out Of Hell tour. "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" is a song composed and written by Jim Steinman, and recorded by Meat Loaf. The song was released in 1993[citation needed] as the first single from the album Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell. The title of the song confused some listeners, who were curious to know what "that" is. The final verse features a female vocalist who was credited only as "Mrs. Loud" in the album notes. She was later identified as Lorraine Crosby, a club performer from North East England.[2] She does not, however, appear in the video, in which her vocals are lipsynched by Dana Patrick. Meat Loaf promoted the single with American vocalist Patti Russo performing the live female vocals. The song was a commercial success, reaching number one in twenty-eight countries.[1] The single was certified platinum in the United States and became Meat Loaf's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and on the UK singles chart. Joe Stefko - drums Steve Buslowe - bass Paul Glanz- electronic keyboards Bob Kulick - guitar Bruce Kulick - guitar We toured non stop for a year and a half; we ALL pushed that rock up the mountain -- our live band performance at the CBS (pre-sony) convention in New Orleans in January of 1978 is what finally knocked the sock off CBS prez. Walter Yetnikov and all the music exec's getting them fully on board. They literally were standing on their tables screaming and cheering for us! Rock and roll exec., Steve Popovich who had his own Cleveland International Records Label under CBS was the only one clanging the BAT bell up until then -- one exec at Epic literally pulled it out of Steve's hands and threw the BOOH album in the east river before seeing our live performances!!!
