James McCartney - Paul McCartney's only son from his marriage to Linda - is on Lorraine for an exclusive performance to promote his debut album and UK tour. Here we see James performing the track Angel. This March, multi-instrumentalist James will embark on his first ever UK tour. If these shows are anything like his 2009 warm-up shows, the audience are in for a night of blistering rock tunes. His songs are melody driven, hook laden anthems that show songwriting clearly runs in the family. James has been playing music all his life. In 2009 he played a handful of shows in the UK and the US. He's spent much of the last two years writing and recording for his forthcoming debut album which he has been working on with producer David Kahne. Talking about his music James says, "The music was inspired by The Beatles, Nirvana, The Cure, PJ Harvey, Radiohead - and all good music. It is basically rock n' roll, clean sounding and vocal. The words on the album refer to spirituality, love, family, trying to sort out one's life, and many other things. I have written the songs over a 10-year period." The album was released on Hear Music on 7 February 2012. It has been released on LP and CD. The album's title, "Kisses on the Bottom", comes from the album's lead track "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," originally a hit for Fats Waller in 1935. Said McCartney on the album, "I worked with Diana Krall, and great jazz musicians like John Clayton. This is an album very tender, very intimate. This is an album you listen to at home after work, with a glass of wine or a cup of tea." The disc was helmed by jazz producer Tommy LiPuma who has previously worked with Miles Davis and Barbra Streisand, among others. "My Valentine", the first song released from the album, features Eric Clapton on guitar. Stevie Wonder appears on another album track, "Only Our Hearts". McCartney plays acoustic guitar on two tracks, "Get Yourself Another Fool" and "The Inch Worm," but otherwise contributes only vocals to the album. The deluxe version of the album includes two additional tracks (including "Baby's Request", a cover of a Wings song from the Back to the Egg album), a download code for access to an exclusive live show available from Paul McCartney's website a week after the album's release, and longer liner notes and expanded album packaging, including three postcards.
