Al-Safa and Al-Marwah (Safa and Marwah) The Masjid al Haram houses the holy Kaaba, the focal point of prayer for all Muslims. Safa ? from which the ritual walking (sa`i, Arabic: ???) begins ? is located approximately half a mile from the Kaaba. Marwah is located about 100 yards from the Kaaba. The distance between Safa and Marwah is approximately 450 meters, so that seven trips amount to roughly 3.15 kilometers. The two points and the path between them are now inside a long gallery that forms part of the Masjid. DV Paluskar was born in Kurundwad a small village near Kolhapur,Maharashtra to well-known Hindustani musician Vishnu Digambar Paluskar. He was only ten years old when his father died, and was subsequently trained by Pandit Vinayakrao Patwardhan and Pandit Narayanrao Vyas. He was also trained by Pandit Chintamanrao Paluskar and Pandit Mirashi Buwa. Even though DV was mainly a Classical singer, he was also a very talented Bhajan singer. He sung such Bhajans as: Chalo Man Ganga Jamuna Teer, Thumak Chalat Ram Chandra, Payoji Maine and many more. May 28 1921 - October 25 1955 (aged 34). + Informações
