This is the one song that's had an impact over me since seeing it when it was first released. And at the time I was thinking "Wow, that guy from In Living Color is in it".....turns out Lauren Hutton, Jim Carrey, and Karen Kopins throw down in a way that made an everlasting impression on me. And I gained a new level of respect for Jim Carrey for throwing that MJ move with such energy (both are doing the dance from Beat It)!!! WONDERFUL!!! Maria Vidal is an Cuban american singer, was originally a member of the band, Desmond Child & Rouge, but went solo with a self-titled debut album recorded in 1987. The album included the single "Do Me Right" written by ex-bandmate Desmond Child. Vidal contributed backup vocals to the The Smithereens' 1984 single "A Girl Like You". She also appeared in the 1985 Jim Carrey film, Once Bitten, as a member of a high school band and contributed two songs to the soundtrack. Vidal sang backing vocals for Lindsey Buckingham and company, as well as various works with KISS. Buckingham co-wrote "Life on the Train", which is on her 1987 LP. Vidal also wrote the 1989 Belinda Carlisle hit "Summer Rain". In 2008, she released a new song, "Green", which was written for an international festival at the American School in London and made available for purchase as an MP3 on her website. Nació en Barcelona el 21 de marzo de 1891. A los 8 años sus padres, Carlos Vidal-Quadras y Carmen Villavecchia, le llevaron a Feldkirch, Austria, al colegio de los jesuitas donde estudiaban hijos de familias de la nobleza europea. Allí se reveló como especialmente bien dotado para el dibujo. En Barcelona acudió a la Escuela de Artes y Oficios, y cursó la carrera de Bellas Artes en la Lonja. Pasó un año en Munich, aprendiendo de Habermann, retratista y representante del Jugendstil. Tras un viaje de estudios por Italia, París y Viena, cuando tenía 20 años regresó a Barcelona y acudió al taller de Félix Mestres Borrell, de quien siempre se consideró discípulo. Con 20 años y participó en una exposición colectiva en Barcelona. Desde entonces el arte constituyó su único trabajo profesional con el que llevó adelante a su familia. En 1914, José María Vidal-Quadras se presentó al público barcelonés en la Exposición de Primavera del Salón Parés. En 1919 hizo su primera exposición individual en esa misma sala, y al año siguiente participó en Madrid, en la Nacional de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes, cosa que repitió anualmente hasta 1929.
