One of my clients had a dilemma of controlling the translations for their web site and software so we made a nice control panel which allows them to harness the power of google translate api and pull in machine translations to their database rather than doing it on the fly. Using the google translate api will save my client alot of money because usually they would normally pay for the full translation plus a proof reader, so now they only have to pay a proofreader to proof the machine translations. Usually web sites that use the google translate feature on their sites are performing on the fly translations which can more than often be inaccurate or portray the wrong message, so what our system does is pulls in the bulk translations into the clients database and allows proof readers to make any permanent corrections thus saving them money on the initial bulk translations.. + Informações

Lattice graphs are used as underlying data structures in many statistical processing systems, including natural language processing. Lattices compactly represent multiple possible outputs and are usually hidden from users. We present a novel visualization intended to reveal the uncertainty and variability inherent in statistically-derived lattice structures. Applications such as machine translation and automated speech recognition typically present users with a best-guess about the appropriate output, with apparent complete confidence. Through case studies we show how our visualization uses a hybrid layout along with varying transparency, colour, and size to reveal the lattice structure, expose the inherent uncertainty in statistical processing, and help users make better-informed decisions about statistically-derived outputs. At theTAUS User Conference, a number of attendees pitched brief proposals for achieving greater power and efficiency in the translation chain through innovations involving sharing and pooling ideas and effort. Mirko Plitt from Autodesk reckons that there is a community opportunity to measure post editor productivity in statistical machine translation output. He has found that post editors typically overestimate how long they take to repair translations. And when the output is particularly poor, there is not much productivity loss. Google Tech Talks March, 14 2008 ABSTRACT Many problems in Natural Language Processing (NLP) involves an efficient search for the best derivation over (exponentially) many candidates, especially in parsing and machine translation. In these cases, the concept of "packed forest" provides a compact representation of the huge search spaces, where efficient inference algorithms based on Dynamic Programming (DP) are possible. In this talk we address two important open problems within this framework: exact k-best inference which is often used in NLP pipelines such as parse reranking and MT rescoring, and approximate inference when the search space is too big for exact search. We first present a series of fast and exact k-best algorithms on forests, which are orders of magnitudes faster than previously used methods on state-of-the-art parsers such as Collins (1999). We then extend these algorithms for approximate search when the forests are too big for exact inference. We discuss two particular instances of this new method, forest rescoring for MT decoding with integrated language models, and forest reranking for discriminative parsing. In the former, our methods perform orders of magnitudes faster than conventional beam search on both state-of-the-art phrase-based and syntax-based systems, with the same level of search error or translation quality.
