For those of who don't know, Lucifer's Heritage was the first incarnation of Blind Guardian, world famous power metal band. However, this sounds a world apart from anything BG would ever put out. This demo starts off with "Halloween", the only song on this demo to make it onto a BG album. Immediately, you ask yourself, "Is that SERIOUSLY Hansi Kursch singing?" It is, but, Hansi apparently took vocal training sometime in between this demo's release and Battalions of Fear's release, because he sounds NOTHING like the Hansi we know. And the music is also a LOT different. It doesn't sound nearly as thrash influenced as Battalions of Fear did; in fact, it sounds more like Iron Maiden and the rest of the NWOBHM. Quite a bit like it. The music sounds good, but lacks the certain magic that made early Blind Guardian so great. I don't recommend tracking this down, unless you are REALLY obsessed with Blind Guardian. If you really want to hear this, Just buy the re-release of Battalions of Fear, and you get this demo as bonus tracks.. + Informações

This song is from the band's first demo, "Symphonies Of Doom", realeased under the name Lucifer's Heritage in 1985. It's now availible on the 2007 remaster of Battalions Of Fear. I think it's a shame this song didn't make it to their debut album. Except for the weak chorus, it really kicks ass.. + Informações

It's time to compare Original and Remastered Material. So I decided to show how bad the New-Mixing Remasters of Blind Guardians two first Albums "Battalions of Fear" and "Follow the Blind" are sounding. I've also used ReplayGain and it's "Track Gain" Function to set the Level of the Volume-Peak to the same point (in reality, the Remasterings are mouch louder, or too loud...) My reference: Stay away from the Remasters! The Sound of the Originals is much better. The only reason, to buy this two Albums remastered, are the Lucifer's Heritage Demos, that have been remastered acceptable (believe me, you won't hear the Originals. ^^) All Rights of "Battalions of Fear" & "Guardian of the Blind" reserved by Virgin, EMI & Blind Guardian.. + Informações
