Willie Dixon was the Apostle Paul of the Chicago Blues. He was a wonderful fair and honest man who had no need of exaggerating or bending Truth. The main reason for this interview was to establish a True history of the originators and innovators of the Electrified Blues Harp. Also to establish the fact that the sound of Rock originated on the Blues Harmonica. Check out the sound of Shakey's Harmonica on his duet with Muddy Waters, "Standing Round Crying!" This 1952 offering was recorded shortly after Little Walter's "Juke" in 1952. Little Walter was the very first to record the Rock sound but Shakey originated it. I always wondered decades ago how Shakey could sound like he did back in 1952 and receive virtually no acclaim. His sound was stunning and like Thor's Hammer!. + Informações

I present this solo presentation performed in Wichita, Kansas 2009 as a TRIBUTE to the awesome Little Walter. Juke was recorded in 1952 and Willie Dixon and I (in his interview with me in 1988) agreed that Juke was the 1st recorded ROCK song. Electric guitar would after Juke pursue the sound Little Walter achieved on his electrified harp. Now also don't forget that Big Walter was Little's teacher on electrified harp and much of the acoustic. Big Walter was the father of the electrified sound not Little Walter. Willie Dixon was born in Vicksburg, MS on July 1, 1915. Dixon is renown as an accomplished songwriter and dedicated bluesman who stands out as not less than sensational. So many of Willie Dixon's music compositions became other popular recording artists hit records it remains unprecedented. Dixon wrote songs that made groups like Muddy Waters, Cream, Chuck Berry, Little Walter, The Yardbirds and Rolling Stones tremendous successes to mention only but a few.
