While I could easily polish off a huge piece of cake any day (somehow I muster up the control not to do this), its definitely a challenge to find healthy sweets that align with a whole foods diet. Every time I grocery shop, I keep my eyes peeled for the latest and greatest truly healthy sweet find. Unhappily, I rarely come across a convenience food that meets my ridiculously strict whole foods diet nutrition criteria. Manna bread, I am overjoyed to say, exceeds even my requirements for a sweet find. Lets start with taste. Manna bread is a muffin-y, cake-like tasting bread that is sweet, moist and chewy all at once. Its also extremely satisfying. If Im having a sweet craving all I need to do is slice some manna bread, spread it with some raw almond butter and put a few dried apples on top. Its also amazing with raw honey and a bit of hardened (butter-like) extra virgin coconut oil on top (I especially like Barleans brand of coconut oil). If Im really needing something totally decadent, Ill use manna bread as the base for a chocolaty dessert; simply cut a slice of manna bread, spread a thin layer of peanut butter on top, place a few mini dark chocolate chips (such as Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips) on top and pop the whole thing in the microwave to melt the chocolate and heat the manna bread. Organic jewelry includes many types of materials such as wood, buffalo horn, bone, etc., anything that has been living is an organic material. With organics, if you want to keep them 100% safe from issues like cracking then you for sure want to keep them as dry as possible. I always tell people, if you get a basic set that isn't crazy expensive, then just wear them and enjoy them. There is no point in being obsessed with keeping them dry if you just have a basic inexpensive set (unless you just really like them and want them to last forever). However, if you have a nice expensive set of organics that you plan on wearing for years, then you will want to keep them as dry as possible to help avoid cracking and breaking. Also in the vid I mentioned plugs with inlays. Inlayed plugs are where other materials are inlayed inside the main piece. These plugs you will want to keep as dry as possible since it can weaken the wood glue over time, and also the edges of the inlays are a lot more fragile. So keep these as dry as possible and when you aren't wearing them, put them in a place that doesn't get much moisture (for example, not your bathroom). But in general, just enjoy your plugs and don't worry about it much unless you have a really nice set. Rockdale is one of the three councils involved in the St George Regional Waste Contract which has WSN as the collection contractor. At the start of 2008 the contract was renewed and brand new trucks were sent out on the road, such as the mean Acco in the video, to collect the recycling and garbage. Prior to all this happening, Veolia ran the collection contract with a fleet of old trucks, including Volvo and Scania side loaders. In Rockdale they have the typical fortnightly collected recycling bin and all residents were provided with brand new 240L garbage and organics recovery bins in 2008. The council is telling residents that if they place all their garbage and green-waste materials into this bin, the valuable materials like recycling and organics will be recovered at a special sorting facility. When I first read that, I sort of thought about it for a moment and didn't think WSN would be sending their 5 garbage trucks to either the Jacks Gully or Eastern Creek facility twice a day with the travelling distance involved. My thoughts were confirmed when I took a ride to the tip in one of the trucks and witnessed a load being dumped on the landfill tipping face. Must be a future consideration for when an AWT facility is constructed for the region. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get footage of the recycling collection on the three occasions I went to Rockdale as they are done by 10:30am and I got there a little too late. They have now rolled out to all residential customers a food waste program. Customers now put all compostable material like food waste and pizza boxes in their green waste can mixed in with the yardwaste hence the name organics. I will only call it organics in this video only, from now on yardwaste = foodwaste and greenwaste. Now on to the truck - this is one of my favorite trucks! I love the growl, and how fast it is.
