If you don't know anything about Krishnan, start off by watching this CNN Heroes special: vimeo.com I really hope nobody gets the wrong impression from this video - I'm not bashing what they do at all. It was probably the most unique experience I've had in all my experiences with NGOs and social projects so far. It was clear that Krishnan understands the need of exposure for funding purposes, but he also is extremely protective of his schedule and of the people he works with. It must be that diligence and professionalism that got him the job in the Swiss 5-star hotel that he decided not to take. I didn't get any more of an experience of Akshaya than you can at home...literally 10 of the 30 minutes I was with him was spent in front of a TV watching Keifer Sutherland and Anderson Cooper (or one of those guys) introduce him at the CNN Heroes awards show, followed by the video in the link above. Any questions I asked, he immediately referred me to their website and graciously informed me that I can get any details imaginable about their work there. Oh - and the cheesy text animations?
