The Norwegian singer Knut Anders Sørum sings this beautiful song by Alf Prøysen on Norwegian TV. SPELLDÅSEN Hu bæssmor hadde no' rart i kista som næsten æiller vi mså fekk sjå. Det var en spelledåse kledt med fløyel som nykkjylhøl og med roser på. Og oppå lokket der sto en spelmæinn med fela stødd mot sitt raude kinn, og når hu bæssmor fekk trekt opp verket så lea spelmæinn på bågen sin. Det var ei tone så lys og vakker ei lita helsing frå lykkens grend. Vi sanke bær og vi plukke blommer, og lønna var å få høre den, og vart vi sjuke, kom prest og doktor med kamferkluter og salighet, men kom å bæssmor med trekkopp-verket, så snudde krisa når fela let. En gong så var je åleine inne. Det var så visst ikke gæli ment. Ja ville sjå å som laga låten så spellmæinn spelte og fela let. Je tok ei hårnål og pirka borti, så verket hoppe og fjøra sprang, og spelmæinn sto der med bågen lyfte, og det var sistegong fela sang. Je gret og bar meg i mange netter. Så kom a bæssmor og ga meg råd. Vi er no'n spelldåser æille sammen, og det er mangt en lyt akte på. Hedningarna is a Swedish and, for some years partly Finnish, folk music band that mixes electronics and rock with elements from old Scandinavian folk music. Their music features Yoik or juoiggus, a traditional Sami form of song. Hållbus Totte Mattson, Anders Stake and Björn Tollin formed Hedningarna in 1987. Hedning is Swedish for heathen, while arna is the plural definite article (thus 'Hedningar' = 'Heathens' and 'Hedningarna' = 'The Heathens'). They wanted to go far back to the roots of the Old Norse culture, including the use of ancient instruments not much used in current Swedish folk music. Stake, a trained luthier, also began to invent and build new instruments, to produce new sounds. In 1988 Hedningarna composed and performed a major part of the music to the stage play Den stora vreden (roughly meaning The Great Wrath) which aroused great interest. Their first album titled Hedningarna was released on Alice Records in 1989. In 1991, Hedningarna began their collaboration with Silence Records. They met the Finnish singers Sanna Kurki-Suonio and Tellu Paulasto. The album Kaksi! (Finnish for two) was released in September 1992. In 1993 Hedningarna was awarded a Swedish Grammis (the equivalent of Grammy) for The Best Folk Music Album of the year. The movie is based on the short story "Love Lies Bleeding" by playwright John Patrick, using the pseudonym Jack Patrick, and was produced by Hal B. Wallis. The screenplay was written by Robert Rossen and Robert Riskin, who was not credited, and was directed by Lewis Milestone. The film was entered into the 1947 Cannes Film Festival. On a rainy night in 1928 in a Pennsylvania factory town called Iverstown, Martha Ivers (Janis Wilson), a young girl yearning to escape from the guardianship of her wealthy, domineering aunt, is caught trying to run away with her friend, the street-smart, poor Sam Masterson (Darryl Hickman). Martha is taken home. Later that night, Sam comes for her, but hides when her aunt hears Martha's beloved cat wandering on the staircase. When Mrs. Ivers attacks the pet with her cane; Martha intervenes and accidentally kills her aunt. This is witnessed by Walter O'Neil (Mickey Kuhn), the son of Martha's tutor (Roman Bohnen). Martha lies about the incident to Mr. O'Neil, and Walter supports her. The greedy Mr. O'Neil suspects what happened, but presents Martha's version of events to the police, that an intruder is responsible.
