Thomascow`s version "Days" is a song by The Kinks, released as a single in 1968. It also appeared on an early version of the album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society (released only in continental Europe and New Zealand), and now appears as a bonus track of the remastered CD. During interviews, Davies claimed the song was composed in part as an emotional farewell to the original lineup of band at a time of doubt about their future (founding member Pete Quaife left the band soon afterwards). Written by Ray Davies, "Days", a song originally released by The Kinks as a single in 1966 is a simple yet poignant masterpiece; this tribute to the late Kirsty Anna MacColl (10 October 1959 -- 18 December 2000), an English singer-songwriter, is of fair use pursuant to 17 USC section 107 for nonprofit, educational and only the most respectful purposes incorporated herein. Kirsty MacColl covered "Days" on her brilliant 1989 album, Kite. Days was released by Kirsty as a single and it reached #12 on the UK singles chart, the same position which it had achieved by The Kinks in 1969 (on its second release). Kirsty's single, "They Don't Know About Us," became a pivotal single for comedian/actress/singer, Tracy Ullman, but failed to showcase Kirsty as a viable artist.
