Euro-disco was the crowning glory for disco music in the late seventies. Artists like Cerrone, Alec R. Costandinos, Boris Midney and Alan Hackshaw brought much of their talent and dedicated their focus on large disco ensembles performing as orchestras. Kikrokos is a studio conglomeration of musicians produced by Andre Allet, Michel Elmosnino and Patrick Sesti included Slim Pezin (Voyage). The project was recorded at Studio Des Dames in Paris. Very similar to Cerrone's standards and an even bet that his earlier projects were a big influence. "Jungle DJ And Dirty Kate" is the LP and the title cut "Jungle DJ" is blended thoroughly with Walt Disney's 1997 film, "George Of The Jungle" starring Brendan Fraser and Leslie Mann. The film based on 1967 animated television series by the same name. The track "Jungle DJ" is a beautiful disco number -- this being the 12" disco single wonderfully remixed by Jim Burgess. It works very well with "George Of The Jungle" since the premise is similar. Featuring scenes from "George Of The Jungle" - RENT THE DVD! This beautiful medley from the "Jungle DJ and Dirty Kate" LP on Polydor is one of Cerrone's many Euro-Disco projects which helped to bring the sound of a full orchestra together with an ensemble of soulful and disco-fied vocals. This track was released on an LP by the same name in 1978 - it is obviously a group of musicians who were well educated on disco - probably Euro-disco. It was recorded at Trident Studios which is where Alec R. Costandinos worked allot of his disco magic. Slim Pezin (Voyage, Kikrokos) is featured on guitars and George Roddi (Voyage) on keyboards and synthesizers as well as Sue Glover and Sunny Leslie on vocals - and these girls were Cerrone's ensemble on early projects as well as backing for a few Donna Summer LPs. With the outline as such, you understand why it is such a fantastic endeavor. Produced by Alain Wisniak and is listed at "the tastiest disco sound around". I agree. The use of a rock and roll influence and theme is deeply successful. I have ReStructured "Rock Solid" re-using the fabulous guitar piece which "disco-rocks!". + Informações
