Once again Moncton Firefighters responding to 1635 Berrys Mills Road for a fire. Black smoke could be seen from the distance as Firefighters arrive on scene. A gate was locked and a key holder was there but wrong key so Firefighters cut the lock to gain access to a bus that was on fire. Codiac RCMP and Fire investigator were needed at the fire scene because there were foot prints leading right to the scene. Between 9/5/2011 and 9/8/2011, Fire and Police Department personnel responded to six, late night, residential arson fires. These included: 9/5/2011 -- 2318hrs: 349 Stratfield Road 9/5/2011 -- 0423hrs: 50 Chatham Road 9/5/2011 -- 2345hrs: 50 Chatham Road 9/8/2011 -- 0219hrs: 1300 North Benson Road 9/8/2011 -- 0259hrs: 321 Woodridge Avenue 9/8/2011 -- 0340hrs: 53 Cornell Road The homes appeared to have been targeted because they were vacant and/or were for sale. Several of the homes were extensively damaged, and in one case, a firefighter was hospitalized with burns he suffered while battling the blaze. These arson cases were made the top priority of the police department, which ultimately involved the extensive investigative efforts of every detective, along with key support from patrol personnel. These efforts culminated in the 9/8/2011 arrest of Christopher Message, age 34, of Valley Road, Fairfield, CT by detectives from the Fairfield Police Department. He is being charged with three (3) counts of Arson 1st Degree, and one (1) count of Burglary 1st Degree. Additional charges will be forthcoming. His bond has not been set as of the time of this release. Message is also a suspect in several fires in nearby municipalities, and we are currently notifying those agencies.. + Informações

The faithful come for daily prayers at Seattle's Idriss Mosque. Abdul Karim says he worries the flames of anti-Islam extremism may spread to Seattle after the arson at a Corvallis mosque overnight. A DRIVER who may have witnessed a woman being set on fire in inner Sydney last month could hold the key to finding the culprit, police say. A 31-year-old woman was walking in Chippen Lane, Chippendale at about 9.30pm on March 22 when a man approached her and set her alight. She was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition. More than three weeks later she remains in hospital in a stable condition. Detective Inspector Leanne McCusker says investigators have been unable to identify a man who briefly parked a white Hyundai Getz near the incident. The man is considered to be a witness and is not suspected of any active involvement in the incident, but police believe he could have useful information. The man is described as being of Asian appearance, 40-45 years of age, of medium build, with short dark-coloured hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a light-coloured buttoned shirt, dark pants or jeans and white shoes. Detective Inspector McCusker said several other witnesses have come forward and given statements. "At this stage we are still continuing with the investigations," Ms McCusker said.
