I hope to raise awareness about solitary confinement going on in US prisons, which constitutes torture. see this video where prisoners describe confinement in darkness for 24 hrs. a day, confinement in lighted flourescent cells 24 hrs. a day, total isolation in what amounts to concrete coffins for months , years and decades. I saw this video and thought to myself of the thousands screaming for help in total isolation, and the terrifying silence that answers them. Panic attacks . Claustrophobic horror. I thought the least I could do was spread some information,to try to restore some sense of sanity, some hope, in some way. For those of us still free, who can at least try to help: "this is a generational change . We barely used solitary confinement, even during the Reagan years, but during the last decade and half our use of solitary confinement has exploded. We have over 50000 people now in long-term solitary confinement." - Dr. Atul Gawande imagine an innocent person screaming in a cell, and then being shown a video of you and hundreds watching these videos and doing NOTHING about it. I think public awareness is the key , and burning this to disc and giving it to people who can make a difference might help. Imagine burning one hundred copies of this to just a CD or DVD and delivering them to some of the homes of the rich in your city. each city councillor should find a DVD in their mail box.
