This is an alternate version of "A Long Day's Life" by Kevin Gilbert originally released on The Shaming of the True in 2000, his posthumously released concept album that was finished by his friend and bandmate Nick D'Virgilio. A full orchestra was added in 2011 by Mark Hornsby and the song was released as a bonus track on a special 2011 re-release of Shaming featuring a complete remastering and a disc of bonus material. In 1994, Kevin Gilbert reformed his progressive rock band Giraffe for one special performance of Genesis' opus The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway at Progfest 94. The concert took place at at the Variety Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA on November 5, 1994. The performance does not include the entire Lamb album (several songs were omitted due to time constraints), but two non-Lamb Genesis track were included in the set. When I heard this on the radio back in the 90's it blew me away. I saw the entire video in my mind, and then I created it. I sent a copy to PRA Records and a more than a year went by until i got a call from Kevin himself. he said he was on a tour in Europe and that he didn't get back until now and he was so amazed with the video that he wanted me to work with him on the videos for his Live shows.
