The Gran Café Tortoni serves a delicious hot chocolate. It was a regular haunt for Jorge Luis Borges as there he would have been with fellow artists, writers, musicians and intellectuals. It seemed fitting to place the first poem 'The Just' there. Tigre is about an hour from Buenos Aries by train (one that stops every few minutes) and there are a variety of boat trips one can take to see something of this extraordinary, infinite network of waterways. I am aware there is some controversy about whether `Instants´ was written by the great man. The profound ironic tone of the poem and the predilection he had for idiosyncratic and dynamic lists, for me, indicate that it was he. I put the TV clip at the end (in the original Spanish) so that those who have never seen or heard the man might have a taste of his presence, his good nature and his grace.
