From the EP, "Don't Save the Kisses" 2004 This song was inspired by the small town in Pennsylvania where I was born and raised. I was at a friend's grandfather's funeral and everyone started singing "How Great Thou Art. I remembered singing this hymn in church as a child and started crying. I remembered how my family used to watch fireworks by an old watertower in an abandoned parking lot after going across the Ohio border to get sparklers. I remembered how my grandma said the downtown had the big "B"s -beauty salons, bible stores and bars. I came home from the funeral and wrote this song which is partly about me, partly about my mom, and partly about anyone who was raied in a small bible town and couldn't wait to leave. I love and miss my hometown every day and know you will always be haunted by memories of places and people you loved and lost.
