Arab-Israeli, Jewish-Muslim-Christian, these teenagers singing like angles under the baton of the legendary Pnina Inbar and accompanied by the talented Pianist Maor Zur, are performing all over the world while proving to all of us that while John Lennon was imagining - in Shani they make it happen! During their recent event MUSIC FOR A BETTER WORLD (Kfar Shemaryahu's Weil Auditorium, May 10, 2012), orchestrated by The Diplomatic Spouses' Club in Israel and The Jezreel Valley Center For The Arts, we had the pleasure of conversing with three girls form the Choir: Joanna Ashkar, Reut Levy and Rinat Marcus. And what a pleasure it's been! It's not only about music and what a performance of Lennon's "Imagine"! Part of Maestro Zubin Mehta's "Mifne Project, talentedly run by Uri Ben David and Zohar Dayan,The Shani Choir (singing in Hebrew, Arabic, English and other languages as well) is the living proof that music is one of the best ways to bring people together and a choir-singing makes one a team-player and respectful of her teammates' language, narrative and culture.
