"Swing Time" (Astaire and Rogers) is the 1938 film that brought this tune it's greatest exposure. Like many Kern tunes it has superb musical construction-just right for an improvised arrangement!This was filmed in New Orleans at the Word Of Mouth Studio in Algiers, La on June 2,2008. We first learned these Kern and Fields tunes when we were resident musicians at the Variety Arts Center in downtown Los Angeles in the 1980's. The Kern show was one of our back to back (two person; Jim and Martha)running songwriters show reviews that ran at the theater. These shows eventually got us our own PBS show for "On Stage LA". Originally it was slated to be a 13 part series that was cut short because of the Governor Reagan cut- backs to the arts in California.. + Informações
