The only son of country legends Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Shooter Jennings literally spent his childhood on a tour bus. Born Waylon Albright Jennings, Shooter was playing drums by the time he was five years old and had already begun taking piano lessons, only to break them off and follow his own path to an understanding of the instrument. He discovered guitar at 14 and rock & roll (particularly Southern rock and the loose-limbed hard rock of Guns N' Roses) at 16. Soon he moved from Nashville to LA, where he assembled a rock band called Stargunn. Stargunn earned a strong local reputation for its live shows, and enjoyed a six- or seven-year run on the LA circuit before Jennings rediscovered his outlaw country roots and dissolved the band. Shooter Jennings lived his first few years in a crib on his parents' tour bus. By age five, he was playing drums. Between tours, he took piano lessons. He started playing guitar at fourteen and sometimes played in his father's band. He and his father recorded a few things together when they happened to have some microphones set up and the tape recorder plugged in. At age sixteen, Jennings discovered rock 'n' roll. As an adult, Jennings left Nashville, Tennessee to seek his fortunes in Los Angeles. Stereo: www.youtube.com Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson - Good Hearted Woman (1975) Jennings and Nelson co-wrote this song during a poker game in a Fort Worth, Texas motel room after Jennings noticed a trade journal ad featuring Ike and Tina Turner that stated that Tina was a "good hearted woman loving two-timing men." Nelson himself only contributed two lines to the song. Jennings first recorded this song in 1972 as a solo version, and it reached #3 on the Billboard country singles chart (it would be two more years before Jennings would score his first #1 hit with "This Time"). When Waylon re-recorded the song for a 1975 live album, he simply overdubbed Willie's voice. As a duet, the song shot straight to #1, and quickly became one of the defining moments of the whole Outlaw country music movement of the mid-'70s.. + Informações

Stereo: www.youtube.com Waylon Jennings - Amanda (1979) "Amanda" was originally written by Bob McDill and was first recorded by Don Williams in 1973. After finishing what he called "an apology to my wife," McDill sent the demo tape to Waylon's office, where it apparently was lost. Waylon first heard the song when Williams' version was released, and he even called McDill to tell him that the song was right up his alley, and wished that McDill had given him the first chance to record the song. McDill then explained to Waylon that he had given him dibs to the song, and Jennings responded by recording the song for his 1974 "I'm a Ramblin' Man" album. Jennings didn't intend for the song to be released as a single, because he assumed that it had run its course on the country charts. Five years later, in 1979, Jennings released his first "Greatest Hits" album, and "Amanda" was included. RCA Records, whom Jennings was recording for at the time, released Jennings' version of the song as a single, and it went straight to #1.. + Informações
