I heard this song first years ago in a website called, Deadbefore40.com which contained articles (even downloadable music files) of famous people all throughout history ranging from Kurt Cobain to Jesus Christ who passed on to the next life before they reached 40 years old - this included Blind Lemon Jefferson who apparently became disoriented by the big city of Chicago, was caught in a snowstorm and froze to death.
