Indian Love Call, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy 3.63 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 293 exibições With lyrics written by Otto Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein, Rudolf Friml and Herbert Stothart wrote "Indian Love Call" for a 1924 Broadway musical-operetta entitled Rose-Marie. First made into an instrumental hit by Paul Whiteman's orchestra following the success of the musical, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy performed the song in the 1936 film version. Victor Records sold over a million copies of their rendition. Artie Shaw also recorded a very popular jazz interpretation of the song. It represents the type of songs found in early American popular music that romanticized and idealized Native American culture in musicals and the earlier sounds of Tin Pan Alley. Although they remain guilty of stylizing and stereotyping Indians, critics suggest that such songs overall do prove more respectful than the images of African Americans in popular culture during the same era.. + Informações |

Wanting You (homage to Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy) - Maria Nazarenko & Matt Pozdol 3.05 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 118 exibições Bernard Katz at the piano. "Wanting You" is from the film/operetta "The New Moon", it was written by Sigmund Romberg and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. My heat is aching for someone And you are that someone You know the truth of my story You must believe what you see. I, too, may someday love someone From somewhere there'll come one One who will hear the same story That you're telling me. ________________________________ ________________________________ Wanting you, Everyday I am wanting you Every night I am longing to Hold you close to my eager breast. Wanting love In that heaven I'm dreaming of Makes that Heaven seem far above Any hope that I'll gain my quest. Dreams are vain But I cling to the nearest Chance that you may hear me Dreams are vain For whenever I wake I never find you near me Wanting you Nothing else in the world will do In this world you are all that I adore All that I adore.. + Informações |
