Summitting Mount Everest fulfilled a 40 year dream. This dream began late December 1969 when I spent 32 days alone trekking up to the Khumbu Glacier and the base of Mount Everest. Since then, I have always aspired to return to climb this great mountain. This is an interview of me by my teammate Louis Carstens of South Africa the day after our successful summit May 23, 2010. We had just descended down to Camp 2 and I was still impacted by Peripheral Edema and frostbite. Fortunately, the edema went away within a few days and the frostbite lasted a few months but I did not lose any fingers. It is a testament that we have within us the ability to reach and accomplish extraordinary things in our lives.. + Informações
