Peace Is Tough Exhibition, featuring a live performance by Jamie Reid's daughter, Rowan... She's looking to go global, so sign her up NOW! Peace Is Tough revolves around two polarities - one being principal elements of the Jamie Reid Archive which has recently been exhibited in Rio and Los Angeles. The second being a presentation of the 365 paintings that comprise the core of Reid's expansive and delightful Eightfold Year project. Reid's Archive spans the decades, from college plotting through punk to protest graphics. This presentation includes original collage work, drawings and paintings, bromides, proof prints and photographs. Elements of the archive are present in extremely important international collections, including that of Tate, acknowledging Reid's importance in the narrative of 20th and 21st century culture. The 365 small gouache paintings (each a uniform 100 x147mm) that compromise the core of Reid's Eightfold Year project represent an exposure of an intensely private endeavour. Reid's daily painting practice has flourished in the last ten years. October 31st 2011 will also be the first day of the second year cycle for an online project which offers a daily painting, festival dates, moon phases and wild flower information that changes daily, through the cycle of solstice and equinox. The world famous Strongroom Recording Studios interior decoration is probably Jamie Reid's largest single piece of work, if viewed as a single piece. Many more rooms than (the now redesigned?) Pelirocco Hotel. The decision to fly in the face of the clinical, neutral interiors of conventional studio design has paid off, with clients constantly eulogising Strongroom's inspirational decor. The idea came from owner Richard Boote, who says, "Having spent to long hours sitting around in boring studios I wanted to build something which was different and exciting, without compromising in any way on technical ecellence." Audio is a combination Acid Pro sample sequencing and a contribution from Jamie describing the project. Southern League Premier Division 2011 2012 Season. Match Report : Andy Buchan (Cirencester) - Expectations were not high after recent results and with Ciren facing relegation could the team lift themselves and produce a performance worthy of the glorious weather we had for this game. With a attendance of just over 100 many wearing shorts and midsummer clothing there was an expectancy of a cracking game of football! We were not to be disappointed. From the kick off, Ciren dominated the first 15 minutes with 5 very good chances to take the lead but as of late that final killer punch eluded the Ciren attack. In the 20th minute Hitchin mounted their first move into the Ciren half this resulted in a corner which was taken by Burke and headed by Luke Gregson but fortunately for Ciren wide of the goal. In the 25th minute a long range shot by Hitchin's Fontenella was comfortably saved by Ciren's young keeper Hedges who it has to be said has adapted comfortably to first team football. Against the run of play Hitchin took the lead with a cross from Fontenella was met by Burke who in his shot on goal got the ball trapped under his feet some how he regained his composure and tapped the ball into the Ciren net from 3 yards. Within 5 minutes Hitchin increased their lead when after a quick break the ball was passed down the left to Donnelly who slotted the ball from 10 yards into the right hand corner of the net.
