Aqui James Last demonstra toda sua versatilidade ao interpretar "Chicken Dance" com o inconfundível som dos metais da JAMES LAST BAND, que nos anos 70 ganhou o mundo com a consagrada série de gravações "NON STOP DANCING". É interessante também conhecer a história dessa composição que fez sucesso no mundo inteiro, com títulos os mais distintos. A composição, de nome original Ententanz (The Duke Dance, ou Dança do Pato), é de autoria do acordeonista suíço Werner Thomas, e foi composta nos anos 50. Nos anos 70 passou a ser conhecida como VOGELTANZ (The Bird Dance) ou VOGERLTANZ (Little Bird Dance ou Birdie Dance), embora nenhum desses nomes tenha sido levado a sério na Alemanha. Em algumas gravações a melodia foi denominada "Dance Little Bird.". Parece que na Alemanha ninguém utiliza o termo "Kükentanz" (Küken significa galinha). Desde 1963 Werner Thomas interpretou sua melodia em restaurantes e hotéis. Durante uma de suas performances, o produtor belga Louis van Rijmenant ouviu a canção. Van Rijmenant tinha composto algumas letras para a melodia, apresentando em público em 1970, mas sem muito sucesso. Em 1980, a banda holandesa "De Electronica's" apresentou uma versão instrumental que se tornou um "hit", iniciando o sucesso internacional da canção. Em algumas gravações da canção Werner Thomas é citado como o compositor, enquanto em outras outros autores são citados junto ao seu nome, por exemplo, "Thomas/Rendall/Hose", provavelmente incluindo na autoria algum arranjador em .... + Informações
