The lyrics are credited to "Jaan Kenbrovin", actually a collective pseudonym for the writers James Kendis, James Brockman and Nat Vincent. The number was debuted in the Broadway musical The Passing Show of 1918, and it was introduced by Helen Carrington. The copyright to "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" was originally registered in 1919, and was owned by the Kendis-Brockman Music Co. Inc. This was transferred later that year to Jerome H. Rernick & Co. of New York and Detroit. When the song was written, James Kendis, James Brockman, and Nat Vincent all had separate contracts with publishers, which led them to use the name Jaan Kenbrovin for credit on this song. * "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" is a popular song which debuted in 1918 and was first published in 1919. This is a recording I made in our summer house. It rained and to pass the time away I recorded this song that I've always liked. The noise (that is the noice that isn't my singing) is the rain falling on the marqee I'm sitting under. "I'm forever blowing bubbles" written in 1919 by Jaan Kenbrovin and John William Kellette (Jaan Kenbrovin is a pseudonym for James Kendis, james Brockman and Nat Vincent, I've read somewhere). + Informações

Edison (DD) 50585 R, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" (Jaan Kenbrovin & John William Kellette) ? Medley Waltz (Introducing "Till We Meet Again"), Tuxedo Dance Orchestra. Recorded June 19, 1919. Played on my Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph, H-19 (Heppelwhite). This is a special request from my cousin Judi. It is presented with all my love! I hope you enjoy! I decided to used this clip to introduce another machine. The Edison Disc Phonograph. Diamond Discs are recorded "vertically" or "hill & dale" The groove undulates up and down rather than side to side as a standard "lateral" or "needle-cut" 78 rpm record. The records are made of an early form of plastic called Condensite. They are played with a semi-permanent diamond stylus. This machine is an H-19 which has a No. 100 horn-the smallest horn used by Edison in his upright cabinet machines. It has a single spring motor. The H-19 was introduced in April of 1919. It's original cost was $155.00. Mine has the "shield grille" which places it from 1922 or later. Cost at that time was $145.00. The finish is what I believe was called "Edison Brown" on mahogany. This model was offered as late as 1927. It is a lovely little machine and my first Edison DD phonograph. The information above is from George Frow's indispensable book "The Edison Disc Phonographs and the Diamond Discs" published by Mullholland Press. Charted at #10 in Billboard in September 1950. Original Billboard review as a Billboard Pick: "Gimmicked arrangement spotting Shaw's clary and Jenkins's bass-register, single-finger piano in duet at a bounce spiced by the full-blown and typical Jenkins choral-ork treatment sets up this disking as a potent item." Originally a hit in 1919 for Ben Selvin's Novelty Orchestra (whose version I have also posted), Henry Burr and Albert Campbell, Charles Hart and Ellot Shaw and Helen Clark and George Wilton Ballard. Written by John Kellette and "Jaan Kenbrovin", a collective pseudonym for the writers James Kendis, James Brockman and Nat Vincent.
